Hi, I'm Anna — a master of Social Work and Human Rights from The University of Gothenburg.
Experience in the NGO sector • Multicultural education • Passion for human rights • Cosmopolitan mindset
Present: For the past 9 years after returning to Bulgaria I have been involved with work in the field of migration. Upon my return I was appointed as a member of the research team in 2 projects of The Center for Legal Aid – Voice in Bulgaria, when Médecins du Monde came to town with a project in the Registration and Reception Centers (RRCs) for asylum seekers in Bulgaria I was hired as one of their social workers. For the past 6 years I have had the pleasure to be a social worker with IOM Bulgaria (The UN Migration Agency).
Past: While living in Gothenburg, Sweden I was an EU Advice Counsellor at Crossroads, Stadsmissionens and just before returning to Bulgaria I did a 4-month internship as a Community Fundraising Assistant at Operation Smile UK. Best of all is that I have gained this valuable experience throughout Europe.
Social policy and human rights, advocacy, globalization and its relation to social policy, migration and migration processes organisational processes and the management of emotions in them, emotional intelligence, social welfare systems, social policies for child protection, domestic violence - legal procedures and practices, honor related violence, clinical social work, substance abuse, social exclusion and inclusion, access to education, social psychology, clinical psychology, psychoanalysis... etc.
To maintain a positive outlook on life, to travel, to meet new and interesting people, to create. I love ceramics and hope to sign up for a new course and someday have my own studio at home. I also love singing and dancing. Music is one of the most inspiring things that life has given us and probably one of the few things that really helps people connect! Food - I love to eat it and love to cook it and of course poetry…food for the soul.
To strive for positive change in the world through my participation in social issues and social policy reforms. I am determined to use the knowledge and skills that I have acquired in my professional life and apply them for this cause. I believe in the human spirit and personality strengths but they can only be promoted and have a positive orientation by making learning more accessible globally. Education is the means to progress of humanity.
Volunteering is a way to gain professional, as well as personal skills no matter how you look at it. It just gives out a positive vibe...! Here is my experience so far - Amnesty International, Gothenburg, Sweden and Caritas & CVS Bulgaria at Reception Centers for asylum seekers in Sofia, Bulgaria.
